About Rada Jones MD

Many years ago Rada was born in Transylvania in a medieval town just a few miles from Bran Castle, which many believe to have been Dracula’s Castle. That’s most likely not true, but it delights tourists.

Still, growing up with communists and vampires taught her that humans- dead or alive – can be fickle, but you can always trust dogs and books. That’s why she befriended every dog and read every book she could get, including the phone book (too many characters, not enough action) and the Health Book, an informative compendium that taught her about reproduction way before her mother got to the birds and the bees.

After immigrating to the US to join her American husband, she spent years studying medicine and working in the ER and on cruise ships worldwide, but she still speaks like Dracula’s cousin.

Now retired, Rada lives with her husband and their German Shepherd Guinness in a cozy Adirondack cabin surrounded by deep forests, industrious beavers, and occasional hungry bears. She spends her days writing, hiking, and dreaming about traveling to faraway places.

And while the characters and situations in her thrillers are (mostly) fictional, the ER life, the medical cases, and the descriptions of the ports of call are all real and based on Rada’s personal experience.
